A Superfan‘s Guide to the Top 10 Batman Funko Pops

As one of pop culture‘s most iconic superheroes, Batman has spawned over 500 Funko Pops and countless fans over his 80+ year history. But with so many versions of the Dark Knight to choose from, which Funko Pops are the must-have pieces for any diehard Bat-fan?

I‘ve compiled this list of my 10 personal favorite Batman Funko Pops that I think represent the very best from Gotham City. From the classics to the obscure, these Funko Pops showcase all the different eras of Batman that have made him so beloved for generations.

1. The Adam West Batman (1966)

NameBatman (1966 Classic Blue Box)
Release Date2016
Dimensions3.75 x 3.75 x 3.75 inches
MaterialVinyl

No Batman funko collection would be complete without this classic blue and grey-suited version straight from the fan favorite 1960s TV series. Complete with a sculpted cowl and removable mask, this Funko embodies the campy, over-the-top spirit that Adam West perfected.

Beyond the silly gimmicks and shark repellant, West‘s hammy gusto resurrected Batman from fading obscurity and made him a surprise hit with wider audiences again. For many fans, West is the one true Batman.

2. The Dark Knight Armored Batsuit

NameThe Dark Knight Armored Batman
Release Date2018
Dimensions3.75 x 3.75 x 3.75 inches
MaterialVinyl

On the other end of the Batman style spectrum is Christian Bale‘s ultra-gritty, angst-ridden version from Christopher Nolan‘s trilogy. This Funko immortalizes Bale‘s formidable armored Batsuit first unveiled in 2008‘s The Dark Knight.

With genius Lucius Fox manning the gadgets and a city to save, this Batman relies on brains and brawn to confront Gotham‘s dark underbelly of organized crime and corruption. No silly shark spray here – just righteous determination, face-punching action, and stirring speeches on justice.

3. Batman: The Animated Series

NameBatman: The Animated Series
Release Date2018
Dimensions3.75 x 5.35 x 3.5 inches
MaterialVinyl

For an entire generation, Kevin Conroy‘s pitch-perfect voiceover work in the acclaimed 1990s Batman: The Animated Series defined the dual Batman/Bruce Wayne dynamic. Conroy captured both the shallow playboy tones as Bruce and the grave, husky Batman tones that struck fear in the hearts of cartoon villains everywhere.

Visually, this art deco Funko Pop also perfectly encapsulates the show‘s dark deco Gotham style with fluid black cape and posed hero stance. This might just be the quintessential Batman Funko Pop for 90s kids.

4. Rideable 1989 Batmobile

NameBatmobile (1989)
Release Date2021
Dimensions6 x 5.2 x 5.2 inches
MaterialVinyl, Plastic

To long-time Batman fans, Michael Keaton speeding through Gotham in this sleek Batmobile was a seminal big-screen moment. As imagined by Tim Burton, the jet black armored car exudes both speed and menace with its exposed engines and flame blasters.

Now Keaton fans can return to this iconic chase scene again and again. This Funko Pop Ride has vintage Batman popping out of the cockpit, ready to battle Joker and save Vicki Vale. Burton knew a superhero is nothing without a badass set of wheels.

5. First Appearance Batman (1939)

For the true Batman historians and comic connoisseurs out there, this Funko takes you back to the hero‘s earliest days – specifically Detective Comics #27 from March 1939 where Batman creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger first unveiled the pointy-eared vigilante.

Reflecting the crude production values and exaggerated style of early comics, this Funko gets the details right:

  • Mismatched gloves
  • Sharply peaked ears
  • Flowing fabric cape that defined those early detective mystery tales

Owning a piece of Batman history, this Funko Pop celebrates his entire 80+ year legacy and serves as a perfect conversation starter with fellow collectors at conventions. After all, every legend has to start somewhere!

6. Futuristic Batman Beyond

Warner Brothers Animation shook up the Batman mythos when they introduced Batman Beyond in 1999. Set decades into the future, the show followed a new high-tech Batman supervised by an elderly Bruce Wayne. Sleek flying suit? Check. Teenaged wit and sarcasm? Check. Fresh rogues gallery of cyberpunk foes? Double check.

NameBatman Beyond
Release Date2019
Dimensions3.75 x 5.35 x 3.5 inches
MaterialVinyl

This glow-in-the-dark Funko Pop immortalizes Batman Beyond‘s bold red and black Batsuit that made Batman cutting-edge again for 21st century fans.

7. Holiday Series: Batman as Scrooge

NameBatmas Scrooge
Release Date2019
Dimensions3.7 x 3.7 x 3.7 inches
MaterialVinyl

Only the creative team at Funko could envision everyone‘s favorite brooding loner Batman donning the nightcap and coat of literature‘s most famous holiday-hating miser – Ebenezer Scrooge.

But surprisingly, it works! Scrooge‘s misery echoes Bruce Wayne‘s dark past while Batman‘s scowl fits perfectly with Scrooge‘s general disdain for humanity. This mashup is equal parts silly, seasonally appropriate, and a fresh take for collectors wanting something different. Bah humbug indeed!

8. The Joker Specialty Comic Cover

NameThe Joker Comic Cover
Release Date2021
Dimensions7.5 x 5.25 x 5.25 inches
MaterialVinyl, Cardboard

No hero reaches iconic status without an equally iconic villain pushing them to the edge. For Batman, that rival has always been and will always be the Clown Prince of Crime himself – Joker.

This Fantastic Exclusive specialty series Funko Pop displays the Joker on front of a faux Batman comic cover. The figure captures Joker mid-maniacal laugh, reveling in all his psychopathic, homicidal glory.

Pair this with the first appearance Batman for the ultimate dynamic duo…of enemies. Because as the saying goes, "Behind every great man is a great villain!"

9. Batman Beyond Glow-in-the-Dark

NameBatman Beyond GITD GameStop Exclusive
Release Date2020
Dimensions3.75 x 5.35 x 3.5 inches
MaterialVinyl

This Hot Topic exclusive glow-in-the-dark figure puts the new Batman Beyond suit on full display. Details like the red wings and insignia pop brightly when the figure radiates in the dark.

It‘s a dynamic pose too – Terry McGinnis crouches dramatically like a demonic gargoyle, ready to pounce off a rooftop and glide into battle against any tech-based criminals who threaten Neo Gotham.

10. Michael Keaton Batman with Batwing

NameBatman with Batwing
Release Date2022
Dimensions3.75 x 3.75 x 3.7 inches
MaterialVinyl

I‘ll cap this list off with another 1989 Michael Keaton Pop to round out the best from Batman on page and screen. This one captures Batman piloting his sleek Batwing to go save Vicki Vale from Joker.

For collectors and fans of Burton‘s gothic vision, this is the quintessential piece – Keaton‘s oddball charm, the ominous Batwing against the night sky, and a story ripped right from the pages of Batman history.

Now you can stage this iconic face-off again and again on your own shelves!

So there you have it friends, my personal picks for the top 10 must-have Batman Funko Pops spanning over 80 years of fandom. Batman has taken many forms over the decades but Funko has made collecting them all possible – and affordable!

No matter your favorite era, costume, or rogues gallery, there‘s a Funko Pop to feed your obsession. Happy hunting fellow Batmaniacs!
