Welcome to the World of Terrifying Horror Funko POPS!

Do you love collecting Funko POPS but find many of them too cute for your tastes? As a fellow horror buff, I totally get you! Luckily, Funko has hundreds of vinyl figures perfect for fans of frights, slashers, and all things that go bump in the night.

In this post, I‘ll guide you through the most petrifying, nightmare-inducing horror Funko POPS ever produced! We‘ll explore rare and must-have figures from iconic horror franchises, as well as underrated monsters you may have missed.

Fair warning: these terrifying Pop vinyls may start showing up in your dreams – or stalking your nightmares! Grab some holy water and those garlic necklaces, because we‘re about to enter a scary world of horror POPS!

Killer Character POPS – The Slashers

Every horror fan worth their weight in blood knows the iconic killers: Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers. Funko captured all of these slashers spectacularly in POP form. But they also shone a spotlight on less-popular murderers you should add to your collection!

Horror Heavyweights

Let‘s start with the OGs of on-screen carnage:

  • Freddy Krueger – Wes Craven‘s Springwood Slasher has multiple appearances, but the blood-spattered Target Exclusive is a gore-soaked standout!
  • Michael Myers – Sporting his classic boiler suit and clutching a knife, Michael Myers feels especially menacing due to being featureless behind the mask.
  • Jason Voorhees – Hockey masks and machetes abound with Jason, including rare unmasked variants (reminder: don‘t stare directly into his one creepy eye!).
  • Leatherface – My favorite deranged slasher from Texas Chainsaw Massacre also has multiple looks. But I‘m partial to the Pretty Lady variant, which features his blood-splattered dress disguise.

According to data site PopPriceGuide, the rarest Jason Voorhees (Glow-in-the-Dark) has sold for over $1,000! And an autographed Freddy Funko once fetched nearly $2,000 at auction!!

Underrated Slasher POPS

Beyond the big four, Funko has spotlighted lesser-known horror icons that deserve more attention:

  • Ghostface (Scream) – No horror collection is complete without this Edvard Munch-inspired masked maniac!
  • Chucky (Child‘s Play) – He‘s a Good Guy doll with not-so-good intentions (especially love the scorched Hot Topic exclusive!).
  • Jigsaw (Saw) – Can‘t forget this puppet-toting madman putting victims through twisted games!
  • Ash Williams (Evil Dead) – Hail to the king, baby! Watch out for this S-Mart employee‘s boomstick!

I strongly recommend these lesser-known maniacs to spice up your gathered. Ash sees the lowest production numbers, so snatch him up quickly!

Menagerie of Monster POPS

Beyond knife-wielding humans, the horror genre shows the most creative (and terrifying!) monster designs. Thankfully Funko brought many legendary creatures to life, though some prove harder to find than others!

Popular Creature Collection

When it comes to monsters, Funko beautifully translated these iconic beasts into vinyl:

  • Alien Xenomorph (Alien) – H.R. Giger‘s phallic skull design still drools menacingly after over 40 years!
  • Predator (Predator) – No Arnie POP yet, but the Predator holds his own with glowing eyes, signature weapons, and that creepy mouth!
  • Pennywise (IT) – The most prolific horror POP, Pennywise appears in dozens of poses (I‘m partial to the bolt cutters and spider variants!).
  • Regan (The Exorcist) – No head spinning action here, but the steely gaze of possessed Regan MacNeil will make your head spin if you lock eyes!

Fun data: a one-of-a-kind metallic chase Pennywise (2017 SDCC) sold for over $3,000 in 2019 according to PopPriceGuide‘s sales data!

Rare Creature POPS

While heavy-hitters like Pennywise and Xenomorph see frequent releases, these monster POPS prove harder to hunt down:

  • Imhotep (The Mummy) – Brendan Fraser‘s antogonizer channels his sand powers in this ultra-rare creature (#1082).
  • The Gill-Man (Creature from the Black Lagoon) – Frankenstein and Dracula get more love, but this obscure 50s Universal Monster deserves a spot!
  • The Creeper (Jeepers Creepers) – Victor Salva‘s winged demon vanished quickly, making it a true chase figure for creature fans!

Jeepers Creeper POPS sell incredibly fast – a special glow chase version (The Creeper) last sold for $650 in 2022 per PopPriceGuide!

I suggest jumping on these rare creature POPS quickly if you spot them in the wild! Their productions numbers prove much smaller than the heavy-hitters.

Nightmarish Novelty POPS

Thus far we‘ve explored human slashers and beastly creatures. But the horror genre shows no limits, as demonstrated by these unique novelty monster POPS!

Scary Sci-Fi Selection

Leave it to horror to inject scares into the wildest concepts:

  • Audrey II (Little Shop of Horrors) – No need to feed this mean, green mother blood to watch her grow!
  • Stripe (Gremlins) – Keep this Mogwai menace away from water and bright lights!
  • Jumbo the Clown (Killer Klowns from Outer Space) – Bright colors contrast with cold dead eyes on this alien prankster‘s frozen face!

Of the batch, Jumbo‘s regional exclusives sell for the most, over $200 for special sticker variants!

Specialty Selection

And just when you think Funko covered all the horror bases, they conjure up these unique POPS:

  • Sam (Trick ‘r Treat) – Don‘t blow out this sack-headed sadist‘s candle or you might lose a hand!
  • The Gentlemen (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) – Silent floating horrors that steal voices – what‘s not to love?!
  • Twisty the Clown (American Horror Story) – More terrifying than any Stephen King creation, AHS made evil clowns mainstream!

The metallc chase Twisty (2015 Summer Convention) last sold for a staggering $2,750 according to PopPriceGuide! That‘s one pricey clown!

I especially endorse the unique Sam and Gentlemen figures to diversify your shelf from more expected horror icons. But buy Twisty at your own peril – his cold dead eyes follow you!!

Stephen King POP Collection

No horror collection feels complete without the Master of Macabre himself – Stephen King! Luckily Funko translated dozens of his most spine-chilling creations into POPs!

Standout King Selections

All hail the King! Funko beautifully brought these iconic baddies to (after)life:

  • Pennywise – As discussed prior, Killer Klown IT fuels nightmares in over two dozen POPS.
  • Jack Torrance (The Shining) – "Heeeerrree‘s Johnny!" Cracked face, axe and all!writer
  • Carrie (Carrie) – This telekinetic teen drenched in pig‘s blood will get you every prom!
  • Christine (Christine) – She may be a ‘58 Plymouth Fury but this car contains one nasty personality!
  • Gage Creed (Pet Sematary) – Keep this undead toddler‘s scalpel away from me, thank you very much!

Fun fact: That super-rare Unmasked Jason Voorhees that fetched $1000+ came from Stephen King‘s video game collaboration Friday the 13th: The Game!

Rare King Choices

While King‘s greatest hits like IT and The Shining see frequent releases, these prove harder to haunt down as a collector:

  • Winston (Pet Sematary) – The cutest undead cat you‘ll ever meet!
  • Ellie Creed (Pet Sematary) – Gage gets more love but I dig this zombiefied sister!
  • Jud Crandall (Pet Sematary) – The well-meaning neighbor with all the bad advice!
  • Henrietta (Evil Dead 2) – Hail to the Queen, baby! This Deadite will swallow your soul!

Winston the Zombie Cat sells fastest from this lot. Snatch up the undead feline quickly before he gets buried in the Pet Sematary again!

Expand your Stephen King ranks with these forgotten figures from less-popular tales of terror! Their obscurity makes them extra deadly…

The Scariest Horror POPs of All

We covered dozens of sickening slashers, beastly creatures, and horrifying oddities in Funko‘s nightmare-worthy POP portfolio! But which releases stand out as the absolute spine-chilling scariest?

In my humble opinion, the top two horror POPS almost too terrifying to handle come from Stephen King‘s IT and The VVitch:

Pennywise (Severed Arm) – Featuring a bloody Pennywise munching on the severed arm of poor Georgie, this Amazon Exclusive perfectly encapsulates the eternal evil concealed behind his grinning facade. I must warn the uninitiated NOT to stare directly into his cold, dead eyes!

Black PhillipThe goat behind all the witches in The VVitch cut an instantly iconic figure with four words: "Wouldst thou like to live deliciously?" That bizarre grin promises untold hedonistic horrors should we make a deal with this devil!

While most Funkos swarm toward cuteness, these two embrace utter malevolence in their soulless eyes. Their ability to promise sweetness while convey menacing darkness makes them the ultimate horror POPs!

So there you have it – a macabre roadmap on collecting the most petrifying vinyl figures across the Funko POP horror catalog! Hopefully you discovered some forgotten slashers, rare creatures, and priority pickups to haunt your cabinet alongside celebrated scream queens and kings!

Just beware…these lifeless eyes tend to follow you as you cross the room. And the slightest turn of their heads paired with an expanding grim may indicate these monsters broke free from their protective cases!

Let me know which terrifying POPS are your favorite and if you have any personal stories of their powers coming to life! Just remember, I warned you!!!
