Too many question marks still exist on whether smart LEDs truly last as long as simpler standard LED ancestors.

Standard LED light bulbs cost a fraction as much upfront, work flawlessly for decades without connectivity requirements, pose no network vulnerabilities, and have scientifically-validated lifespans saving you from frequent replacements.

Of course over the next 3-5 years, smart lighting technology will surely evolve solving many of today‘s limitations. Improved security standards, longer operational lifespans between charging, and plug-and-play setups lie ahead. For now however, enjoy modern LED lighting without the smart clutter! If some level of home automation still intrigues you however, explore interim alternatives like smart plugs or switches. By taking connectivity and intelligence out of the bulbs themselves, these options dodge certain pitfalls covered today.
