Citadel Campus – Highest Power Consumption Facility

Consuming a monstrous 650 megawatts of electricity, Switch‘s Citadel Campus in Nevada earns the crown for energy appetite. This US data colossus expanded in 2022 to 7.2 million square feet overall powered entirely by solar and renewable sources.

To grasp the scale, Citadel Campus syphons enough electricity to power 500,000 homes! Switch specifically built its Nevada location leveraging the hot, dry desert climate to achieve very efficient cooling. This allows the Citadel to pack higher densities of servers using less energy.
