Covid-19 Facts

Coronavirus or Covid-19, as it often referred to is a “severe acute respiratory syndrome.” In summary, the virus and disease is often referred to as a virus or as pneumonia. The novel coronavirus, or SARS-CoV-2, is highly contagious and can possibly develop into COVID-19.

The first known case was identified in Asia in December 2019 and soon spread quickly. The highly contagious disease has created worldwide economic havoc once it spread worldwide. The spread of Covid-19 led to an ongoing pandemic.

The nature of Covid-19 is like no other in how much it has affected the world, economy, society, and more.

Respiratory infections like Covid-19 are regular and familiar kinds of infections that are often caused by coronaviruses in humans. In general, Coronaviruses have been the cause of a variety of illnesses like the common cold to MERS and SARS in humans and various animal species.

Covid-19 thrives and develops in a dark and moist area

Dark and moist area

This is a fact that escapes most people because it is still being investigated. In particular, the coronavirus is able to survive up to around 28 days or more in cool, wet, and dark areas. The COVID-19 strain requires moisture and darkness to stay stable and active.

More surprisingly, there is some evidence that the COVID-19 coronavirus can be active and survive in water for 1-3 days; while others say even as much as even 1-2 weeks.

There are studies, still being researched and finalized, that suggest Covid-19 does not thrive in dehumidified, dry, warm, and bright environments. The research was carried out by and published by Australia’s national science agency.

Loss of smell is one of the most unusual symptoms

Loss of smell

Loss of smell is an odd symptom for anyone. Medically, loss of smell is called Anosmia. However, one of the most common symptoms of this very misunderstood virus is mysterious as well. Please note that this symptom does not mean you have the virus but it is worth being vigilant.

In general, many in the medical field and industry suggest caution if you experience a sudden loss of smell. One study found that up to 30% or more Covid-19 patients in South Korea experienced the loss of smell. In summary, anyone who does have a sudden loss of smell and taste should contact a health provider or doctor.

Many people may be infected with Covid-19 and don’t know at all.

Infected with Covid-19

Research has shown survey information showing anything from 25 percent to 80 percent of people did not know they have Covid-19. There are many symptoms of Coronavirus that are common like fever, cough, headache, exhaustion, and more.

So, there may be many people who have Covid-19 but not realize it at all. Also, some people who have Covid019,  never have any symptoms. Many experience particularly serious cold or flu-like symptoms, but never realize they are infected with Covid-19.

Surveys and research suggest that up to around 54% of people who have Covid-19 do not know how they got infected. This reasoning and lack of knowledge about being infected with Covid-19 have put pressure on governments to enforce wearing face masks in public.

Hand Sanitizer or Antibiotics do not kill or eliminate Covid-19

Hand Sanitizer or Antibiotics

Things like hand sanitizer, bactericide, and antibiotics do not kill Covid-19. The Coronavirus is not per se a living organism like for example, a bacteria. Why is this the case?  Overall, antibiotics cannot kill what is not living in the first place.

To look at things more closely in regards to Covid-19 research, antibiotics are effective against bacteria, not viruses. Therefore, the logic to use antibiotics with Covid-19 is false and not reasonable. Moreover, in theory, Covid-19 is being caused by a virus. The stress is that antibiotics are not recommended for prevention or protection against Covid-19.

Whenever you think of protection against the virus it is important to remember that many viruses are transmitted from direct contact with people who are infected. In general, hand sanitizers are not effective protection against Covid-19 anymore than just washing your hands with soap and water.

There has been an average of over 3,000 COVID-19 deaths per day in 2021 in the United States (USA)

Deth

The beginning of 2021 saw Covid-19 and its fatal side greatly increase especially in the USA. For example, in January 2021, deaths from COVID-19 suddenly became the leading cause of death for all Americans.

By 2021, around 3,000 people per day were dying of Covid-19. By January of this past year, Covid-19 deaths outpaced and became higher than other leading causes of death. The statistics in regards to Covid-19 fatalities are not only bad in the USA but in certain countries like Brazil, the UK, and France.

The most shocking thing though is that Covid-19 surpassed Heart disease as the number one health concern in the USA, which has created panic, research, and grief.

Covid-19 Risk is higher for anyone suffering from Obesity or being Overweight

Overweight

Older adults especially with medical conditions, like obesity, are potentially much more at risk for severe illness from Covid-19. There are reports from the Centers of Disease Control that along with obesity there are diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and lung complications that worsen your prospects with Covid-19.

In summary, the pandemic has made many rethink how to deal with obesity. Patients with especially severe obesity, in terms of having a body mass index over 40, have a worsened prognosis and course of sickness with Covid-19.

The virus of the Covid-19 can be active and live on surfaces for up to several days

Covid-19 active and live on surfaces

It is shocking, but the COVID-19 virus can live on surfaces for days and thrive. How? Basically, respiratory droplets are able to travel and be transmitted through surfaces.

Moreover, when someone just coughs and especially sneezes then the Coronavirus can spread and cause infection.

Moreover, researchers discovered that the virus can survive and be active around 24 hours or more on cardboard. Furthermore, Covid-19 can survive on plastic and stainless steel for 2-3 days.

There is a case of the cruise ship, called the Diamond Princess, having partial pieces of the Covid-19 for up to 17 days, so be vigilant and cautious anywhere and everywhere. In conclusion, the Covid-19 virus had been detected on a variety of surfaces in the past and active for any number of days.

Covid-19 reinfection is possible like the common cold.

Reinfection

When you get Covid-19 many may expect that reinfection is not a worry or better yet that a vaccine or proper caution will protect you. However, Covid-19 is a true mystery because Covid-19 like the common cold is caused by a handful of coronaviruses.

Immunity is not a guarantee for anyone who has been infected with Covid-19. In terms of research, it is estimated that ten to 30% of common colds are directly brought on by only 4 specific coronaviruses. Everyone knows that it is more than possible to get another cold so don’t expect any difference with Covid-19.

In conclusion, immunity and ultimate safety from reinfection is believed to be 6 to 12 months, so expect the possibility of refinfection at some point.

Coronavirus is fragile when it comes to contact with soap.

Soap

The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat. That is why any soap or detergent is the best remedy because the foam cuts through the fat.

It has been cited that simply doing cleaning of surfaces with soap and detergent will deter and weaken Covid-19. So, merely wiping or washing off a surface with water is more than enough to decrease the risk of COVID-19 spread.

According to the CDC, it is helpful and protective to scrub a surface with soap or detergent at once a day at least if possible. In general, this simple act of cleaning with water and soap would lessen the survival of virus particles on surfaces.

Most of the people who are infected with Covid-19 recover fully or are recovering

Recover fully

Many or most infected will survive Covid-19, this is a positive fact during a high charged time throughout the world. Many may even be infected and not have symptoms and then many people with Covid-19 may show very mild symptoms.

Another promising statistic is that many variable Covid-19 trackers claim around 3.5 million or more Americans have recovered. This statistic may be underreported so positivity about Covid-19 needs to be known just as well as panic and precautions.

In conclusion, it is a fact that many who have Covid-19 experience mild illness. Severe cases of Covid-19 are to be concerned about but remember this is not the norm for the overwhelming majority of people with Covid-19. Moreover, it is the case that the people with Coronavirus will recover at home and without medical care.
